Realistically What Can We Say?

A beautiful day just like any other or so it seemed?  After news spread about Michael's passing takes the world by surprise.  A performer like no other, the most powerful and influential artist to "Moon Walk" on this Earth.  Dynamic and groundbreaking are 2 words along with a 1,000 others used to describe his larger then life star power.   He is to music, what Tiger Woods is to golf, to what Michael Jordan was to Basketball, what Jackie Robinson was to baseball and what Oprah as a public figure.  He broke color lines and became the one of the first black artist to be accepted globally as if race didn't matter.  He wanted to be the best and undoubtedly is the best performer to ever live.  Selling over 170 Million albums worldwide and  as a side note this number will dramatically increase in the coming months.

Hearing his music at a young age makes you want to just break out and dance.  Feet and hands flaring in smooth rhythmic motions, crotch grabbing and snapping to the beat.  The music gives you the feeling that nothing else matters except what's going on in that specific song.  Allows you to zone out for that moment in time to another place where Michael wanted to take you.  Stories of Liberian women, interracial love, first time falling in love, healing the world, gang violence, tales of smooth criminals, jamming, fun times, baby mama drama and hundreds of other songs that hit so close to home. 

The only good thing I believe that will come out of this besides people looking at how short life can really be, is the music to come.  I know I have been inspired by Mr. Jackson in the past and look to his music in the future for more of that same inspiration.  This might result in a creative project or just be a wind down session, he will be dearly missed.

When the World goes to sleep they will attempt to dream, that this day was a figment of their imagination.  Unfortunately it will not be they will wake up and we will be with out the King Of Pop and The King of Music for Decades.  Sadness is temporary and death is inevitable, yet we have a seemingly never ending catalogue of great music to comfort our sorrows.
